MILNTHORPE SURGERY IS MOVING

Did you know that we have found new premises for our Milnthorpe surgery? 🤔

We will be moving to a new location at the 📌 Bridge End Business Park later this year.

We plan to have three consult rooms, two surgical theatres, and more space for your furry friends. And don’t worry; you’ll still have the same lovely team.

Here are some pictures of our new site, and stay tuned to our Facebook page for more updates.

JUNE IS NATIONAL MICROCHIPPING MONTH

Bay Vets would like to remind you of the importance of microchipping your furry friend.

Not only is it a legal requirement for dogs, but owners must also have their cats microchipped by the 10th of June 2024 or face a £500 fine.

Implanting a microchip only takes a few seconds and is made to last your pet’s lifetime.

Microchipping is a simple and painless procedure that can make all the difference if your pet goes missing. By ensuring your contact details are up-to-date in the database, you increase the chances of being reunited with your pet should they become lost.

Don’t delay, book today!

YOUR PETS ENJOY COMING IN TO SEE US!

We’ve recently asked you on our Facebook page if your pets enjoyed visiting us, and we were delighted to confirm that they do! Thank you for sharing all your lovely photos with us! 🥰

BE MINDFUL THIS SUMMER

‎Did you know that our pets cool down much differently than we do? 🤔

They don’t produce a lot of sweat like humans. Instead, they mostly lose heat through panting.

We’ve all heard that pets stuck in hot cars can develop fatal heatstroke very quickly as the temperature inside the vehicle, combined with the lack of ventilation, makes it impossible for them to lose heat.

With the weather getting warmer, please note that:

🌡️ High humidity and mild heat are dangerous too, as thermal regulation is harder during damp, warm conditions;

🌡️ If your pets enjoy running around outside, you should keep them in during the hotter hours of the day, and provide them with plenty of water and access to shaded areas;

🌡️ Never leave your pet unattended during hot days, especially if they might not have access to fresh water or places where it’s cool.

⚠ If you notice excessive panting, drooling or disorientation in your pets after being out in the heat, do not hesitate to give us a call!

‎Good weather makes everyone happy! People are happy, pets are happy, and insects are happy too!

With the abundance of insects out in our gardens and on the best trails to walk with our pets, it’s important to learn how to avoid insect stings and know what to do if your pet does have a nasty encounter.

🐝 Keep an eye on your pets at all times, and don’t let them wander off too far;

🐝 If you spot insect activity like a hive or a nest, it’s best to go another way and not let your pet investigate it.

⚠ Pets that have been stung need to be monitored closely for allergic reactions ⚠

If you notice your pet has a swollen face, is disoriented or having difficulties breathing, give us a call immediately!
